Privacy Policy

Overview
This Privacy Policy explains how the Free QR Code Generator (“the service,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) handles information when you create, customize, and download a QR code. You can use the service without creating an account.
Information we collect
Information recorded when you download
When you download a generated QR code, we currently record:
- The selected QR type: website, text, phone number, or vCard.
- The information entered into the generator, including URLs, text, phone numbers, vCard names, vCard phone numbers, vCard email addresses, and the encoded QR value.
- Design settings such as colors, frame type, frame text, QR shapes, error-correction level, whether a logo was used, and the selected logo width.
- The date and time of the download event.
Some of this information may be personal information, depending on what you enter. Do not encode sensitive, confidential, financial, medical, or authentication information unless you are comfortable with this processing.
Logo images
A logo selected from your device is read locally by your browser and placed into the generated image. The logo image file itself is not included in the Firestore download record. We record only whether a logo was present and its configured width.
Technical information
Our infrastructure and service providers may automatically process technical and operational information needed to deliver, secure, and maintain their services. This may include IP addresses, device or browser information, request details, timestamps, and service or application identifiers.
How we use information
We use collected information to:
- Provide and operate QR generation and download functionality.
- Understand which generator features and designs are used.
- Diagnose errors, maintain reliability, and prevent abuse.
- Improve the service and prioritize future features.
- Comply with applicable legal obligations and protect our rights.
We do not use the logo image file for advertising or model training.
Service providers
Google Firebase and Cloud Firestore
Download records are stored using Google Firebase Cloud Firestore. Google processes information on our behalf to provide its infrastructure and database services. Google may also process Firebase service data in accordance with its terms and privacy documentation.
Learn more in the Firebase privacy and security documentation and the Firebase Data Processing and Security Terms.
We do not sell your QR content or design settings.
Cookies and local storage
The generator does not currently require an account or use advertising cookies. Our hosting platform or Firebase may use or access technical storage and identifiers where necessary to provide, secure, and measure their services. Browser settings can be used to control cookies and site data, although blocking required storage may affect the service.
Data retention
We retain Firestore download records for as long as reasonably necessary for service operation, analytics, security, dispute resolution, and legal compliance. Retention may vary when a longer period is required by law or when information is needed to establish, exercise, or defend legal claims.
Generated PNG files are created for download in your browser. We do not upload the finished PNG to Firestore as part of the download log.
Data security
We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards and rely on service providers that maintain security controls. No internet transmission or storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure. You should avoid placing highly sensitive information in a QR code created through the service.
International processing
Firebase and other infrastructure providers may process or store information in countries other than the country where you live. Those countries may have different privacy laws. Where required, service providers use contractual and other safeguards for international transfers.
Your choices and privacy rights
You can reduce the information processed by the service by:
- Creating and previewing a QR code without downloading it.
- Avoiding personal or sensitive information in QR content.
- Clearing the fields or closing the page before downloading.
Depending on your location, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, or objection regarding personal information. Because the service does not require an account and download records are not assigned to a user profile, we may need enough information to locate and verify the relevant record before completing a request.
Children’s privacy
The service is not directed to children under 13, or the minimum age required by local law. Children should not submit personal information through the generator without the involvement of a parent or guardian.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy when the service, its data practices, or applicable requirements change. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page identifies the most recent revision. Material changes should be reviewed before continuing to use the service.
Contact
Questions or privacy requests should be sent to the service operator through the contact channel published with this website. Include “Privacy Request” in the subject and do not send passwords, payment details, or other unnecessary sensitive information.
